I had the privilege to study with Beatrice Antonioni at Accademia Musicale Pescarese- Scuola Superiore di Musica. Beatrice Antonioni, one of the finest Italian woman pedagogue, has had an enormous impact on my violin playing. Her Bach and Paganini teaching has inspired me to dedicate more time to this repertoire than I would have done. Already a child prodigy playing Brahms concerto at the age of 16 under Lorin Maazel, Beatrice was 4th Prize Winner at Paganini Competition at the age of 22. Her father Francesco Antonioni was her first teacher. A pupil of Henrich Szeryng, Nathan Milstain and Remy Principe, Beatrice particular teaching artistic side, has always been the beautiful expressive sound accompanied by a natural playing. Very attentive and caring at all times she was capable to inspire young students, eachone with his own potential. One of her best student has been Massimo Quarta, Paganini 1st. Prize winner. She played a violin Montagnana-1741 and a 1680 -Stradivari “D’Annunzio-Baccarà”. Beatrice Antonioni was member of National and International Violin Competitions such as Paganini, Enescu, Lipizer amongst others, has been Professor at Accademia di Santa Cecilia and at present teaches at Arts Academy in Rome and at Accademia Jacopo Napoli International Summer Courses were I am so praud to be her assistant.
